Footie fans ‘to take trains to Rome’
Many of the football fans heading to the Italian capital for the Uefa Champions League final and a night in one of the many hotels in Rome on May 27th will be using the train to get there, it has been suggested.
Amanda Monroe is a spokesperson for Rail Europe and explained there are many reasons for this.
She noted that travelling by train is an environmentally-friendly way of getting around and that it is a very relaxing mode of transportation.
Moreover, it could well be the case that heading to Rome by rail proves to be a cheaper option than flying. However, Ms Monroe noted that genuine football fanatics will be keen to get to the city by any means possible in order to enjoy the experience.
“Ardent football fans who really are fans would take any form of transport that’s available to them,” she concluded.
Manchester United and Barcelona will face each other for the title in a match that is due to kick off at 20:45 local time at the Stadio Olimpico.
